Can he still produce at that level on a Philadelphia team featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey… and now LeBron James?
My answer is yes. The numbers may look a little different. I don’t think the player will.
Brown has spent his career proving he can thrive alongside other stars. First it was Jayson Tatum. Now he’ll share the floor with Embiid, Maxey and James.
That sounds crowded. I actually think it works in his favor.
Brown’s production should travel
Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists last season while putting together the finest offensive year of his NBA career. That’s the baseline I’m using for this discussion, not some random projection.
The temptation is to assume those numbers automatically fall because Philadelphia has more mouths to feed.
Maybe. But basketball isn’t always that simple. Brown isn’t a volume scorer who needs to dribble the air out of the ball.
He’s one of the league’s better transition players. He cuts well. He attacks closeouts. He finishes through contact. He can create his own offense when necessary, but he doesn’t have to dominate possessions to score efficiently.
That’s exactly the type of player who tends to fit alongside other stars.
Why LeBron actually helps
The biggest change since this topic was first discussed is LeBron James.
At first glance, another superstar sounds like bad news for Brown’s fantasy value. But I don’t see it that way.
Philadelphia isn’t asking the 41-year-old James to average 30 points. The Sixers already have scorers.
They’re asking him to organize the offense, create easier opportunities and preserve enough energy to be at his best when the games matter most.
That’s good news for Brown. Imagine defenses trying to decide whether to help on Embiid in the post, stay attached to Maxey on the perimeter or rotate toward Brown attacking the wing while LeBron is reading the entire floor.
Somebody is getting an open look. Brown may actually see fewer difficult possessions than he did in Boston. I’ll gladly exchange two shot attempts for four easier ones.
My projection for 2026-27
This is my projection, not an official forecast from the 76ers.
Assuming reasonable health across the roster, I’d expect Brown to average something close to 26.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 48.8 percent shooting.
That’s a slight decrease in scoring from last season, but I don’t consider that a negative.
If Brown scores a couple fewer points while becoming more efficient because LeBron is creating easier offense and Embiid is commanding double teams, fantasy managers should happily accept the trade-off. Efficiency counts, too.
The injury history deserves mentioning
Brown has played through plenty over the past couple of seasons.
He battled a partially torn right meniscus during Boston’s 2025 playoff run and later dealt with a right knee contusion. Neither issue appears to be limiting him entering this season, but it’s fair to acknowledge the recent history when projecting his fantasy value.

I’d still feel much better drafting Brown than worrying about isolated injuries from the past. He’s consistently shown a willingness to play through discomfort.
There are enough shots for everyone
The easiest mistake fantasy managers make is adding up star names instead of basketball roles.
Yes, Embiid will get touches. So will Maxey. LeBron will have the ball plenty. Brown will still “eat,” as the cool kids like to say..
James isn’t joining Philadelphia to become Superman again. He’s joining a roster that already has elite scorers.
His greatest value may come from making the game easier for everyone else, and Brown is one of the biggest beneficiaries of that arrangement.
The Sixers don’t need Brown to create every possession. They need him to finish them. That’s a role he has embraced throughout his career.
His Value Isn’t Going Away
There are certainly reasons to expect Brown’s counting numbers to dip slightly. There are also reasons to believe his efficiency could improve.
When I weigh everything together, I don’t see a player whose fantasy value suddenly disappears because another superstar arrived.
I see a player entering one of the league’s most talented starting lineups with less pressure to force offense and more opportunities to attack favorable matchups. That’s a pretty good recipe for another outstanding season.
Brown may not repeat every career-best number from Boston, but I wouldn’t bet against him producing another fantasy-worthy year anyway.
Sometimes joining more talent doesn’t shrink a star. Sometimes it simply lets him shine a little more efficiently.
