Roseville police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound Friday morning at the city’s Solaire Park, the Roseville Police Department said.

Few details were immediately available, but the discovery at the park bordering Solaire and Solar Point drives near Westbrook Elementary School forced authorities to place the campus on what Roseville police called a “secure” response as detectives investigated.
The response is for incidents that happen off school grounds. Students who are outside are brought inside school buildings and are not permitted to leave.

The school was not under threat. Roseville police officials in a statement to social media said the school was secured so children could not observe the scene during their morning drop-off at the school.
