Oxnard police are investigating a crash Aug.t 16 between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Oxnard Boulevard at Ninth Street.

The Oxnard Police Department was called out to an injury collision around 4:50 a.m. just south of the downtown area. The injured pedestrian was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital. The patient’s condition was not known as of 8:45 a.m., said Cmdr. Tom Rawlings.
Oxnard Boulevard, between Ninth and Eighth streets, was closed for several hours for the investigation, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes, according to Rawlings and a department news release. The streets were reopened around 10 a.m.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash, he said. The collision is still under investigation.
