Parents are not only demanding “criminal charges” be brought upon a U.S. high school athlete who got into a brawl on the field this weekend, but they’re now calling for him to be “banned for life” from all sports.
Rapid City Central and Brookings were playing a boys soccer game in South Dakota this week, when things escalated. An opponent got his rival onto the ground and started pummeling him, at one point sending kicks to the head.
Play was stopped as a result for about 10 minutes.
Matt Kerney of Fox Sports Rapid City shared the footage on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.
“During yesterday’s boys’ soccer game between Rapid City Central & Brookings in Brookings, a physical altercation between players stopped the game with 3:48 left in the 1st half. Stoppage lasted about 10 minutes, game resumed,” he shared on X.

Parents have been speaking out, demanding criminal charges.
“Woah. This should draw criminal charges,” one wrote.
“That’s gotta be criminal charges. There is absolutely no place in that for sports or society in general,” one shared.
“This child should be charged with assault,” one fan added.
Parents are now taking things a step further, though, asking for the higher schooler to be banned from all sports.

“Ban him for life,” one wrote.
“He shouldn’t step foot on an athletics field again. Ban him now,” one shared.
“No place for this. Ban him!” one fan added.
“This should no doubt be a season suspension. No excuses,” one fan added.
