The Yankees placed Rodon on the injured list on June 30 with left elbow inflammation. The lefty last pitched for the Yankees on June 28, tossing five scoreless innings against the Boston Red Sox before landing on the 15-day IL two days later.
He worked his way back through recovery and rehab outings, first with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on August 8, allowing three runs on three hits, including a home run over 2 1/3 innings. He was a bit sharper with Double-Somerset on Aug. 13, striking out seven and allowing two hits and a walk over 4 1/3 scoreless innings.
Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News Sports reported the news on X.
Rodon has had a decent 2026, pitching to a 4-2 record with a 3.30 ERA and 52 strikeouts over 46 1/3 innings before the injury, following an All-Star 2025 season in which he posted a 3.09 ERA across 33 starts for the Yankees.
