Serrano faces Lucrecia Manzur on Friday, Aug. 21, at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, with the event streaming live and free on TikTok. Serrano’s 32 career knockouts are tied with Hall of Famer Christy Martin for the most in women’s boxing history.

Amanda Serrano Is One Knockout Away From History

Martin recorded her 32nd and final knockout more than 21 years ago in 2005. Serrano finally matched the longstanding mark in her most recent fight on May 30, stopping Cheyenne Hanson by second-round TKO.

Now, Serrano has an opportunity to stand alone with knockout No. 33.

Manzur enters the matchup at 14-4 with seven knockouts. The 27-year-old Argentine is also riding a five-fight winning streak, giving her an opportunity to spoil Serrano’s pursuit of history.

Both women are champions signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and are separated by just one weight class, with Serrano competing at featherweight (126 pounds) and Baumgardner at junior lightweight (130 pounds). Both were also successful in their most recent appearances.

Whether that matchup ever happens remains a question.

Serrano has openly discussed nearing the end of her boxing career, making every remaining appearance increasingly significant. If the Baumgardner fight doesn’t come together soon, fans may never get the matchup.

That adds another layer to Friday night. Serrano could accomplish two career milestones with one victory: a knockout would give her a record-breaking 33rd career KO, while any victory over Manzur would give the future Hall of Famer her 50th professional win.
