Several Sacramento-area campuses scored highly on the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings for 2026-2027, the publication said.

Seven public high schools in the area ranked among the top 1,000 across the nation in the report released Tuesday, Aug. 18.
In all, the report reviewed more than 27,000 public schools across the United States, ranking them based on their performance on state assessments, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.
College readiness measured the percentage of 12th graders from the class of 2022-2023 who took at least one advanced placement or international baccalaureate (IB) exam by the end of their senior year and the percentage of 12th graders who earned a qualifying score on at least one AP or IB exam in high school, U.S. News said.
How did Sacramento-area schools fare in nationwide ranking?
Seven Sacramento-area schools made the top 1,000 in the nation.
West Campus High School in Sacramento in the Sacramento City Unified School District topped the list of Sacramento-area schools on the national list, coming in at No. 117. On the list of California-only schools, West Campus High School was ranked No. 15 overall.
Umoja International Academy in Sacramento in the Sacramento City Unified School District ranked 196th on the national list.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy in Rocklin in the Rocklin Unified School District claimed the No. 304 spot on the national list.
Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts in Marysville in the Marysville Joint Unified School District ranked 700th on the national list.
Davis Senior High School in Davis, a part of the Davis Joint Unified School District, took the No. 747 spot on the national list.
Granite Bay High School in Granite Bay in the Roseville Joint Union High School District ranked 779th on the list.
Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep High School in North Natomas in the Natomas Unified School District claimed the No. 866 spot on the national list.
