Renovations are continuing at the Sacramento location of the popular Korean supermarket, H Mart.

The grocery store, which sells an assortment of Korean and other Asian goods, is located at 6366 Mack Rd. in Valley Mack Plaza.
Since the initial excitement in 2023 over the store’s announced arrival, people have posted questions online wondering if the store really would open, given the delay.
The supermarket will occupy the 58,000 square feet space that was once a Food Source grocery.
Although a specific opening date has not been announced, a permanent sign has gone up on the building’s front, replacing the old banner, according to ABC10.
City of Sacramento officials told ABC10 that the opening date has been delayed due to the renovation process and building inspections.

Representatives from H Mart did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee.
The New Jersey-based Korean supermarket chain was founded in 1982. It’s the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States with more than 90 stores across the country.
The food store is also known for its food courts, featuring Paris Baguette, Gong Cha, Paik’s Noodles, and Oh! K-Dog.
“H Mart is America’s premier Asian food destination and provides groceries and everyday essential needs as well as upscale products,” the store’s website said.
The nearest H Mart locations to Sacramento are in the Bay Area, with stores in San Francisco, Dublin and San Jose.
