Clark, who is averaging 22.1 points and 8.3 assists per game this season, is part of Team USA’s 12-player roster. The rest of the squad includes Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Cooper, Chelsea Gray, Rhyne Howard, Kelsey Plum, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young.

“This is an incredibly talented group that has earned the opportunity to compete in Berlin,” said WNBA legend Sue Bird. “Wearing a USA jersey is a privilege, and I know these 12 players will embrace that responsibility as we go after another gold medal. I can’t wait to see what this team accomplishes together.”

With the tournament set to begin on September 4, the FIBA website ranked the top 20 players to watch.

As for Team USA members, only Stewart and Wilson were ahead of Clark.

What are fair expectations for Caitlin Clark?

Clark was outstanding for Team USA during FIBA World Cup qualifying in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists per game, which led to her being named MVP of the tournament.

It’s unclear if Clark will be part of Team USA’s starting lineup.

The United States is set to face China on Sept. 4. Team USA will also take on Italy and Czechia in the group stage.
