A stolen Sacramento Regional Transit SUV led officers on a pursuit before its driver crashed into a parked car in Sacramento, police said.

The SacRT vehicle was reported stolen just before 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Q Street just south of the Sacramento State campus, Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the suspect fled, leading the officers on a pursuit.

The pursuit ended when the driver collided with a parked car near the intersection of Carlson and Sandburg drives in Sacramento’s River Park neighborhood, Gamble said. The suspect initially refused to get out of the car but was later detained.

No injuries were reported, according to Gamble.
