By admin A Lincoln police officer pursued a hit-and-run suspect Friday night, initiating a chase that ended when the suspect crashed into a fence.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., a Lincoln Police Department officer located an outstanding hit-and-run suspect vehicle near East Avenue and Sixth Street.
The officer made contact with the driver and vehicle’s sole occupant, a 34-year-old man. The suspect was uncooperative during the contact and physically resisted, briefly pulling the officer partially inside his vehicle, Lincoln police said in a social media post.
The driver struck the officer’s marked patrol vehicle front push bumper, causing damage. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into PG&E infrastructure fencing. The suspect fled on foot and concealed himself within an outbuilding, at a residence across from the Lincoln Police Department, according to the social media post.

Officers established communication with the suspect to de-escalate the situation. He eventually complied and was taken into custody without further notice. He was arrested and will be booked on felony evading, hit-and-run and felony resisting arrest, police said.
The same suspect led Lincoln police on a vehicle pursuit a few weeks ago throughout Lincoln before being taken into custody following a foot pursuit, according to the social media post.
