Player lands ‘exciting’ six-figure jackpot on $1 bet at Sacramento-area casino

A Lodi player hit a $583,824 progressive slot machine jackpot on a $1 bet at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove.

The win came Aug. 26 on a 2-cent Dollar Storm Mega Grand Link Buccaneer slot machine game, the casino said.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our fifth year than by celebrating a jackpot of this size,” said Michael J. Facenda, president and general manager of Sky River Casino. “His story is an exciting reminder that you never know what might happen when you walk through the doors at Sky River Casino.”

The Lodi resident plans to use the winnings to pay off his vehicles. He also is considering using the money to start a small business or make a down payment on a home.

The casino, which opened in 2022, spans 100,000 square feet with more than 2,500 slot machines and more than 80 table games. It has 18 restaurants and bars.

Owned by the Wilton Rancheria in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, the casino is located at 1 Sky River Parkway in Elk Grove, about a 15-mile drive southeast from downtown Sacramento.
