An internationally recognized boba shop chain is coming to a popular Sacramento-area mall.

HeyTea is coming to Westfield Galleria at 1151 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville, according to the mall’s website. The chain sells cheese foam tea and salted cheese green tea.
Cheese foam is a smooth and slightly salty whipped foam topping popular in boba drinks. The foam is made from cream cheese mixed with sugar for a fluffy and velvety texture.
The tea chain prides itself on using all-natural ingredients. The store uses fresh tea and milk, rather than the powdered milk commonly used in boba shops.
HeyTea was founded in 2012 under the name of Royaltea. The chain was launched in China by 20-year-old Neo Nie Yunchen who was frustrated by the “lack of pure and great-tasting tea drinks,” where he lived. The chain rebranded to HeyTea in 2016.

“Following our instincts, we chose a completely new path—using real tea, real milk, and natural ingredients to create the very first cheese tea,” the chain’s website reads.
HeyTea has a diverse assortment of beverages, from the classic boba milk and fruit tea to signature slushie drinks. Its popular drinks include a triple supreme matcha latte, cloud crisp grape boom slushie, coconut mango blue slushie and a cloud longjing milk tea, according to its online menu.
Since its humble beginnings, Heytea has expanded and opened more than 4,000 locations across the world. The chain currently has 40 in the United States and more than eight in California. The HeyTea in Roseville will be the first in the Greater Sacramento area.
The specific opening date has not been announced for HeyTea. Westfield Galleria did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee.
