A lake wind advisory was issued by the NWS Reno NV on Thursday at 1:02 a.m. in effect until 11 p.m. for Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra counties and Lake Tahoe.
The NWS informs, “Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, locally up to 40 mph. Wave heights 1 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake.”

“Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft,” states the NWS. “Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.”
