Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

New York Mets at New York Yankees NRFI (-120)

Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins NRFI (-TBD)

Dodgers LHP Blake Snell is expected to make his seventh start, entering at 3-1 with a 1.97 ERA. He has allowed just one ER in six first frames for a 1.50 ERA with 12 K’s. The Fish go with RHP Ryan Gusto at 1-4 with a 4.23 ERA. He has been better in the first with a 3.00 ERA and 15 K’s in 15 frames.

Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays YRFI (-115)

In this matchup of long-time veterans, the O’s go with RHP Chris Bassitt at 6-5 with a 4.96 ERA. He’s pretty meh in the first with a 4.80 ERA and a .311 opponents’ batting average. The Jays go with RHP Max Scherzer at 2-7 with a 6.03 ERA. Mad Max has been super angry in the first with a 9.64 ERA. This one could get messy early.

What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?

The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn’t matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
