Aryna Sabalenka was not a happy woman on Sunday.
The now-former women’s No. 1 lost in the women’s final at the U.S. Open. Sabalenka was looking to three-peat in Flushing Meadows, New York. She reached the women’s final for the third year in a row, but she was unable to pull out the victory.

Following the match, as the U.S. Open was holding the trophy ceremony, the cameras caught an upset Sabalenka, who clearly did not want to be shown on the air at that point in time.
Sabalenka expressed visible frustration before shooing the ESPN cameraman away, making it clear that she did not want to be shown at that point in time.
Video of the moment quickly went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday morning, September 13.

It’s OK to be frustrated, but you’re a professional athlete paid millions of dollars. Getting shown on TV, when you’re happy or sad or mad or frustrated, is part of the gig, like it or not.

Tennis fans are ripping Sabalenka for her behavior.
“Her attitude is horrendous,” one fan wrote.
“Just unsportsmanlike. It’s not about you in that moment. Just let the cameras capture you and forget about it,” one fan added.
“She obviously haven’t lost enough. She needs practice on manners and grace. Lose more Aryna. It will do you good,” one fan added.
“She really needs to learn how to lose,” one fan added.
“Alcaraz did the same. You can understand that you’re so disappointed after losing and you don’t want to have a camera on you. People who don’t know sports can’t understand that,” one fan added.
“She’s a great tennis player however something mentally is wrong with her… I think she’s not a normal person…. She has those mental episodes,” one fan added.
