Deion Sanders Shows Public Support For Protect College Sports Bill

Deion Sanders has changed his mind on politics.

The former NFL star turned Colorado Buffaloes head coach has often referred to politics as “poli-tricks.” The Hall of Fame cornerback believes that politicians lie, mislead and do not do what they say they will for their constituents. But things appear to have changed for the Colorado Buffaloes head coach.

On Saturday, Coach Prime announced that he had changed his mind on politics. The Big 12 head coach is getting involved with politics, pushing for the protect college sports act. Deion Sanders is doing a commercial for the bill, which members of U.S. Congress are hoping to pass.

“Deion Sanders in all CU gear, at Folsom, with footage of student athletes playing over him, doing a commercial for the protect college sports act,” Jake Shapiro shared.

“He had said in the past he doesn’t do politics…that’s changed for Prime.”

Nick Saban appears to agree with Coach Prime.

The legendary Alabama head coach is among those asking for U.S. Congress to bring order to college sports.

Nick Saban agrees with Coach Prime’s change of heart

Saban testified in Washington, D.C earlier this summer.

“Congress does not need to micromanage college athletics,” Saban said.

“Congress does need to fix the mess in the courts and create a national framework so the people inside college sports can enforce fair rules. Without that legal certainty, every rule becomes another lawsuit, every standard becomes another risk, and the system keeps drifting toward a professional model.”

Rules that could come to college sports from the bill include:

• Limiting athletes to transferring schools only one time without penalty;
• Limiting athlete eligibility to a maximum of five years;
• Prohibiting former professional athletes from playing in college;
• Prohibiting schools from poaching a coach from another school during their sport’s season (Ted Cruz called this the “Lane Kiffin rule,” referring to LSU’s hiring of Kiffin from Ole Miss in November.)

Deion Sanders appears to be on board with it.
