White House Announces Decision On Watching NFL Games In 2026

Will President Trump be watching NFL football at the White House on Sunday?

The 80-year-old President of the United States didn’t grow up playing much football – it was too “violent” for him – but he’s become a fan of the sport as he got older. President Trump is watching some different teams in 2026.

“Maybe I’ll pick a few,” Trump told ESPN’s Laura Rutledge at the Patriot Games. “I think New England looks good. I think the Giants – I like their quarterback (Jaxson Dart) a lot. I think that, they say the L.A. Rams are looking very strong.

“But I better not get into this too much, I’m gonna get myself in trouble if I do. But I think you have a lot of good teams, a lot of great teams. And we’ll see how it turns out, I’ll be watching.”

But how does President Trump watch football in 2026?

President Trump appears to be an NFL “RedZone” fan.

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson said that he’s been told by the White House that they’ll have him on this fall.

“I’ve been told we’ve been on in the White House in the last two administrations, so both sides of the aisle,” Hanson said to Outkick.

“I’ve been told by the players … Tom Brady, loves ‘RedZone,’ loved it when he was a player, when he was playing on Monday Night Football or Thursday night football or the bye week, he was watching ‘RedZone.’

“Josh Allen — one of the faces of the NFL today — loves ‘RedZone.’ When he’s playing on an off day or whatever, if he can watch ‘RedZone.’ So it’s just, it’s, it’s a phenomenon.”

Hanson says that there will be “commercials,” but they will be short.

“There will be, there will be what people define as commercials,” Hanson added. “The plan is right now to have a limited number of 15-second commercials only in between plays.

“So we’re on a Dallas Cowboys drive. OK, first-and-10 after a 5-yard gain. They’re walking back to the huddle. That’s when we will splice in one standalone, 15-second commercial. I can confirm that for you.”
