That’s because the Seahawks took care of the New England Patriots last Wednesday in their season opener. It was a highly anticipated rematch of the Super Bowl, but the end result was the exact same.
It’s huge for the Seahawks to have an impressive win on their resume already. Some big performances helped the team get the win, and a few players disappointed.
Today, let’s talk about players whose stock is shooting up and some others whose stock is headed down before we move on to Week 2.
Stock Up: Drew Lock
Before Week 1, there wasn’t much talk about Drew Lock. Sam Darnold had been playing so well that it was just assumed the Seahawks would have no shot if he went down.
Well, Lock showed that he’s capable of leading this team to wins. The quarterback didn’t do anything too flashy, but he did what was needed and didn’t make any mistakes. Most importantly, Lock was able to lead the Seahawks to a victory.
Darnold won’t be out for long, fortunately, but the Seahawks now know they can rely on their backup quarterback.
Stock Down: RB Emanuel Wilson
Emanuel Wilson seemingly had a nice opportunity to start the season. Zach Charbonnet is on the PUP list, and the Seahawks only kept three running backs on the active roster. As a result, it seemed like Wilson would definitely have some opportunities.

Instead, the team went with a combination of Jadarian Price and George Holani, while Wilson only got two touches. Wilson was even featured in a trade proposal after this game, if that tells you anything.
Stock Up: CBs Nehemiah Pritchett and Josh Jobe
The Seattle secondary was elite in 2025, and it’s expected to be elite again in 2026. The thing is, ahead of Week 1, there were some concerns due to Nick Emmanwori and Ty Okada not playing.
Riq Woolen and Coby Bryant also left in free agency, which also gave reasons to be cautiously optimistic. It’s just one game, but Nehemiah Pritchett and Josh Jobe definitely seem to be up to the task. Pritchett racked up six tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception, while Jobe added six tackles, one pass breakup, one tackle for loss, and one interception.
The two defensive backs showed exactly what the team needed to see.
Stock Down: LB Ernest Jones
Ernest Jones was fantastic in 2025, but he didn’t get off to the best start in 2026. The linebacker racked up a team-high 13 tackles, but he was awful in pass coverage.
Jones was targeted four times and allowed four receptions. The linebacker earned a pitiful 45.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, with a 50.8 grade in coverage. Luckily, it didn’t end up hurting the Seahawks too badly, but it definitely could down the line if he doesn’t improve.
Stock Up: S Julian Love
It’s time to start talking about Julian Love as one of the best safeties in the game. Love was fantastic in the half of a season he played in last year, and he picked up right where he left off in Week 1.
Love racked up six tackles, two tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one interception. The defensive back had to step up with Emmanwori and Okada out, and that’s exactly what he did.
