Aaron Rodgers recently gave some very rare insight into his home life including his plans to build a family with his wife Brittani. But ESPN’s Mina Kimes took some issue with the way Rodgers spoke about his spouse.

During an appearance on Mad Dog Sports Radio last week, Rodgers said he will be “supporting his pregnant wife” and starting a family with her.
“I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements,” Rodgers said. “And I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college, and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”
Kimes didn’t like that…
Appearing on The Sports Gossip Show last week, Kimes said that she found it “odd” that Rodgers referred to Brittani as his “pregnant wife.” She said that she found it a strange way to talk about a person instead of just saying “I want to start a family.”
“I just don’t know if I’ve ever heard anyone use those words in that way,” Kimes said. “That was my reaction. You know the Bart Simpson [quote], ‘What an odd thing to say.’

“It was just a strange way of putting it, as opposed to, ‘I want to start a family.’”
It’s hard to get too broken up about Rodgers’ language there. He clearly didn’t mean to demean his wife and was probably just trying to be funny there.
Rodgers isn’t exactly known for conforming in terms of what he talks about so it shouldn’t even be a surprise that he used “odd” language there.

It feels like Kimes is just tone-policing on this one.
