Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have continued their incredible basketball careers at the international level, helping Team USA take down Gabby Williams and France 97-79 in Sunday’s 2026 FIBA World Cup final in Berlin, taking home the gold. This marked the fifth straight World Cup win for the United States, dating back to 2010 in the Czech Republic, along with the first for Reese and Clark.

Reese only received nine minutes of action during the final, tallying three points on 1-of-2 shooting, a block and a steal. And of the six games Team USA played in Germany, the Atlanta Dream forward appeared in all of them off the bench, averaging 7.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Clark, on the other hand, also played in all six games for Team USA, coming off the bench as well. Against France, the Indiana Fever guard recorded 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting and three assists in 13 minutes of action. And she finished the 2026 FIBA World Cup averaging 7.8 points and 5.3 assists per game.
Reese and Clark have been rivals throughout their basketball careers, starting in the 2023 NCAA National Championship when Reese’s LSU took down Clark’s Iowa. It continued into the WNBA when Reese joined the Chicago Sky and Clark joined the Fever. And while Reese is now on the Dream after an offseason trade, anytime the two go head-to-head, it has become a must-watch.
But Reese and Clark have put their potential differences aside to play for Team USA together. They even helped their country secure a perfect record in February’s 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament, before helping Team USA win gold on Sunday.

After the game, Reese took to social media to share her excitement for Team USA’s win, only including one emoji in her first post after taking home gold: “🥇.”

Reese and the Dream will take on the Connecticut Sun on Thursday when the WNBA returns from its break, while Clark and the Fever face the Toronto Tempo on Friday.
