A 15-year-old girl who was struck by a car and seriously injured Friday in south Sacramento died Sunday at a hospital, Sacramento police said.

The girl was near Bruceville and Calvine roads, close to the Elk Grove city limits, about 6 p.m. when she was struck, witnesses told police. Officers found the girl in the roadway and located the driver, who cooperated with investigators.
The driver was not suspected of being under the influence. Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision, according to the department’s preliminary investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the girl’s name after her family has been notified.
