The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two suspicious deaths after remains were found a day apart in the foothill town of Dobbins and the community of Plumas Lake, south of Marysville, officials said.

The first report came in about 3:30 p.m. Monday. Deputies responded to an area near Frenchtown Road in Dobbins, about 30 miles northeast of Marysville, where they found a body off the road, the Sheriff’s Office said. The death was being investigated as suspicious.
Nearly 24 hours later, a second body was reported off Plumas-Arboga Road in Plumas Lake, about 11 miles south of Marysville. Deputies found the body about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday on the shoulder of the road. That death also was being investigated as suspicious.

Both bodies appeared to be in different stages of decomposition. Sheriff’s officials said investigators were gathering information to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Neither body has been identified by the Yuba County Coroner’s Office.
