CHP arrests man who crashed car into Orangevale building, fled to trailer park

A man who crashed his Ford Mustang into an Orangevale building was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers on suspicion of driving under the influence after authorities said he fled the scene and hid in a nearby trailer park.

The 54-year-old man was driving on Main Street in Orangevale shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday when his car left the roadway and crashed into a building at a small strip mall in the 6200 block of Main Street near Greenback Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol’s East Sacramento office.

CHP officials said the man fled the crash and tried to hide in a nearby trailer park before officers took him into custody.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the CHP said.
