The Floriston Fire near Truckee reached 75% containment Monday morning with no additional growth expected, according to authorities, but westbound Interstate 80 remained restricted as firefighters continued working along the highway.

The wildfire, which is in its fifth day, has burned 622 acres northeast of Truckee near the California-Nevada state line, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Crews continued mopping up the fire Monday, strengthening containment lines and extinguishing hot spots at least 300 feet inside the perimeter.
All mandatory evacuation orders had been lifted. Only Nevada County evacuation, Zone NCO-379-A, remained under an evacuation warning Monday morning, Cal Fire said.
The fire had been 65% contained Sunday evening before firefighters increased containment by another 10 percentage points overnight. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Westbound Interstate 80 remained restricted to one lane from Mystic to Floriston Way because of firefighting operations, creating a potential traffic concern for travelers heading toward Truckee from the Nevada state line.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Battalion Chief Chris Vestal, who is serving as spokesperson for the firefighting efforts, said crews anticipated increased traffic during the Monday morning and evening commutes.
“Completing this work is one of the incident priorities so that we can return the Floriston area to normal,” Vestal said in a statement. “As well as fully reopen westbound I-80 to all traffic, and also restore the route for the local community and eliminate the economic impact caused by the closure with effects beyond Sacramento/Reno.”
He urged drivers traveling through the area to use caution around fire crews and equipment.
