A Sacramento County jury convicted Lorenzo Deboy Davis of sexually assaulting and robbing women in the La Riviera area, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.

Davis was convicted Sept. 17 of three counts each of forcible rape and forcible oral copulation, along with robbery, burglary and assault charges. Officials said Davis targeted college-age women who lived alone in the La Riviera area east of Sacramento.
Davis forced his way into a woman’s apartment in November 2021, sexually assaulted her and repeatedly made her shower in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence. He later fled after the woman alerted employees and customers at a liquor store, according to prosecutors.

Officials said another woman fought back during an attack and scratched Davis, leaving DNA beneath her fingernails. She later escaped by jumping from a second-story stairwell after a neighbor knocked on the door.
DNA evidence linked Davis to both attacks, officials said.
Davis faces a maximum sentence of 180 years and eight months to life in prison. An allegation that Davis had a prior robbery conviction that could count as a strike was expected to be addressed at sentencing by Judge James Arguelles.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 6.
