Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is in his first season with Joe Brady as the team’s head coach, and the two have shown no signs of slowing down despite the significant change.
The Bills have started the season incredibly strong on the offensive side of the ball and will head into Week 3 with a 2-0 record.
Allen has looked every bit like the best signal caller in the NFL. His most recent performance on Thursday Night Football against the Detroit Lions was one of his best ever, and it also marked the first game Buffalo played at their new stadium, Highmark Stadium.
Allen broke it in style, leading Buffalo’s offense to 41 points and tearing apart Detroit’s defense without his top wide receiver D.J. Moore, who exited early with a left shoulder injury.
Allen completed 20 of 31 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns through the air, and also rushed the ball 14 times for 69 yards and two more scores, responsible for five touchdowns himself.

The performance was dominant enough that the NFL named Allen Week 2’s AFC Offensive Player of the Week. The Bills reacted to his accomplishment with a post on X detailing just how dominant he has been to open the season.

This marks the 19th Player of the Week award of Allen’s career, the most of any player in the NFL since he entered the league in 2018.
He also became the first player ever with 5+ passing touchdowns and 3+ rushing touchdowns in the first two games of any season. Allen will look to secure Buffalo’s third straight win this upcoming Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
