A man was injured late Thursday when a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Carmichael, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Firefighters were dispatched about 11 p.m. to the Village at Fair Oaks complex at 10741 Fair Oaks Blvd. where they found heavy fire coming from a second-story apartment, said Metro Fire spokesperson Capt. Mark Nunez.
“Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines while additional crews conducted a primary search of the building to ensure no occupants remained inside,” he said in a statement. “Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and prevent further spread.”
A man who lived in the apartment where the fire started suffered burns, according to Nunez. Firefighters treated him at the scene before he was taken to a hospital. Nunez said the man was listed in stable condition.

Metro Fire investigators were working Friday to determine what started the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
