The Citrus Heights Police Department is investigating a suspicious death connected to a fire that broke out Wednesday night at a mobile home park.

Officers as well as Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel responded around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday to a residential fire in the 6200 block of Plymouth Rock Lane, the Police Department said Saturday in a news release. The residence is within the Creekside Estates mobile home community just south of Greenback Lane.
Detectives returned around 10 a.m. Friday after the scene was determined to be safe to enter and discovered “the remains of a deceased male under heavy debris from the collapsed roof,” according to the news release.
Metro Fire and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office are assisting the Police Department’s investigation. The cause of death for the male victim remains under investigation and is pending the results of an autopsy.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Coroner’s Office after family members are notified.
