The checks, which have been pouring in as the June 2 primary election nears, illustrate two competing interests that have a stake in decisions the seven-person board makes.
SCTA, which represents teachers in the Sacramento City Unified School District, has spent over $380,000 to support candidates Davon Thomas, Sacramento Children’s Fund Commissioner, and Annie Fischer,
Meanwhile, the CSSA has spent $128,826 to support candidates Dominique Donette and Paul Keefer, who is an incumbent on the board.

Anna Molander Hermann — who is also running against Donette and Thomas to replace the retiring Bina Lefkovitz — did not receive contributions from either group.
The board oversees 13 school districts and the Los Rios Community College District. The winner will be determined June 2.
