The Sacramento area’s last-standing drive-in movie theater is welcoming film lovers and families to a free movie night this week.

West Wind Drive-In Sacramento 6, 9616 Oates Drive in Rosemont, plans to host guests at its six-screen property for free this Thursday.
The theater will open its gates at 6 p.m., with movies kicking off at 8 p.m., according to a social media post by the company. Entertainment and activities for younger guests are slated to run throughout the evening while guests wait for the showings to start.
Here’s what West Wind Drive-In will be screening and what’s on the discounted concessions menu on the free movie night.
What movies are screening at West Wind Drive-In for free?
As part of the open movie night, the drive-in theater is playing six recently released flicks, spanning family-friendly kids’ movies to blockbuster sci-fi films.
According to a social media announcement by the drive-in theater, moviegoers in Sacramento will be able to watch “Toy Story 5,” “Moana,” “Michael,” “Project Hail Mary,” “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” and “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” No tickets or advance reservations are required to attend.

Numerous double-features will run throughout the evening, per the theater’s website. “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” has only one screening planned, while “Toy Story 5” will play three times. The other four films are scheduled to play twice.
What else can West Wind Drive-In guests do at free movie night?
While young moviegoers wait for their movie of choice to begin, they can have screen-less fun with bounce houses, music and other “family activities” at the theater.
Though outside food is welcome at the drive-in theater, guests can also go to the lobby, where concessions stands have classic movie snacks for sale. On Thursday, nachos will cost $2 (normally $6.75).
In addition to popcorn, candy and slushies, drive-in guests can purchase pizza, hot dogs, chicken wings and tenders, alcoholic beverages and more.
