Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire that is burning 54 acres in Perris on Sunday, Oct. 4.

The blaze was reported around 2 p.m. at the 21-100 block of Hartford Park, near Lake Matthews and the Harford Springs Reserve, according to Cal Fire’s website. It was seven to 10 acres around 2:30 p.m. and grew to 30 acres by around 3 p.m. before increasing to 54 acres at 4 p.m.
Cal Fire’s incident update said four airtankers were assigned to contain the fire, which irregular winds were pushing northwest. It said that the fire’s growth had slowed down significantly around 3:30 p.m. There were no reported injuries, Cal Fire said on X.

Harford Fire evacuations
Cal Fire said there were no evacuations due to the Harford Fire.
Harford Fire road closures
Cal Fire did not report any road closures as of around 3:30 p.m.
