Most of them had experience with making coffee and all were artistic. So, they combined their talents, according to McAnlis.

“We all got together, and we’re like, ‘What can we do to make money that sounds enjoyable?’” McAnlis said. “We settled on a coffee shop because we felt like we could do the customer service…it’s our sort of bread and butter for making money.”

Fair Grounds Coffee’s menu includes a white chocolate mocha, iced drip coffee, cold brew and its signature Mexican mocha, according to its handmade flier posted on social media. The shop serves up various sweet and savory pastries as well.

Like its menu, its craft selection is diverse. The shop sells hand-spun yarn, jewelry, pottery and glass pendants, McAnlis said. The shop also hosts crafting workshops every Saturday, starting at noon.
