On Monday, low-floor trains will begin toting riders along the Green Line, which has been shut down since June 2025 because of work around the developing Railyards District and construction of the new Seventh Street and Railyards station.

The new Seventh Street and Railyards station will open Oct. 15 — three days after the Green Line reopens — adding a fourth stop to the line. Trains will pass through the station early next week, but passengers will not be able to use it until the official opening date.

The station will be RT’s 55th light rail station and the second to open in less than a month, after trains began picking up and dropping off passengers Sept. 28 at the Dos Rios station. The new station is intended to connect riders to the Railyards District, where projects such as Kaiser Permanente’s planned hospital and Sacramento Republic FC’s new soccer stadium are under construction.

Also starting Monday, the extra trips on Bus Route 11, which provided service during the Green Line suspension, will end. The five extra trips were at 5:36 a.m. and 7:18, 7:30, 7:48 and 8 p.m.
