The New England Patriots have a thin receiving group heading into their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, and TreVeyon Henderson could offer another option if the coaching staff needs a pass catcher.

Patriots reporter Doug Kyed reported that New England will have only four wide receivers available: Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and Kyle Williams. That shortage could encourage the Patriots to use different personnel alignments.
Henderson’s potential use in the slot would give the offense another way to get the ball into his hands without relying exclusively on traditional receiver personnel.

Henderson’s quickness could make him useful in space, while lining him up away from the backfield could create a different assignment for a linebacker or defensive back. Still, Kyed’s report does not say New England has committed to using him as a slot receiver, so the idea remains a possible adjustment rather than a confirmed plan.
With limited options, more responsibility could fall on Douglas, who is among the four available receivers. New England will need its remaining wideouts to handle their assignments and help quarterback Drake Maye keep the passing game moving.

Kyed also reported that the Patriots will have just three cornerbacks available: Marcus Jones, Charles Woods and Kindle Vildor. Safety Elliott Davison has been elevated and could provide extra depth at cornerback. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson’s status appears more encouraging; the team made no corresponding move at the position after he said Friday he was good to go.
The shortage at receiver gives New England a reason to be flexible with its personnel against Las Vegas. Henderson’s versatility could be useful, but any expanded role would need to be confirmed by the team or shown on game day.
For now, the confirmed development is the limited receiving group, not a finalized slot assignment for Henderson. How New England distributes its available playmakers will be worth watching as the game unfolds.
