Jalen Ramsey is active for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Indianapolis Colts, but the secondary around him is thinner. Cornerback Jamel Dean (ankle) was ruled out on Friday and is inactive for the 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Acrisure Stadium.

Ramsey (wrist) carried a questionable tag into the weekend, and so did running back Rico Dowdle (toe). Dowdle is inactive for a third straight game, and running back Lew Nichols and receiver Brandon Smith were elevated from the practice squad Saturday.
Cornerback Terell Smith, signed Tuesday, is also inactive. Quarterbacks Will Howard and Drew Allar, running back Eli Heidenreich and defensive lineman Kevin Jobity Jr. round out the list.
Receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) went on injured reserve Saturday, and safety DeShon Elliott (knee) is still on IR, so neither appears below.
As for the Colts, Keenan Allen (groin) is active after missing the win over Washington in London. Linebacker Jaylon Carlies and receivers Ashton Dulin and Darius Slayton are among their inactives.
Here’s who is sitting on both sidelines.

Daylen Everette steps in for Jamel Dean
Rookie Daylen Everette is expected to start in Dean’s spot, and he’s had a preview. Dean played only 16 snaps in the 27-24 loss in Cleveland, while Everette played 53, according to PFF.

“He’s been pushing for playing time,” head coach Mike McCarthy said this week. Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham put it more simply: “He doesn’t blink.”
Everette has allowed five catches on nine targets this season, according to PFF. Ramsey, who will line up with him, praised him after Friday’s practice. “He’s a true corner. He’s a true defensive back,” Ramsey said.
Roman Wilson’s role grows without Pittman
Pittman re-injured the same foot that cost him the Week 2 game against New England. “It’s going to be a multiple week injury,” McCarthy said Thursday.
That puts more on Roman Wilson, who has 14 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He played only 22 snaps in Cleveland but posted a 78.2 overall grade, the best on the offense that day, according to PFF. The Steelers will need to lean on their young receivers with DK Metcalf drawing the top coverage.
Both teams are 2-2, and the game airs on CBS. Anyone headed to the North Shore should bring a rain jacket.
