A fun start to today’s Eagles-Jaguars game in London was marred by a double ejection that NFL Network’s commentators struggled to explain.

On the opening kickoff, the Jaguars returned it all the way for a touchdown that opened up the scoring. But the play was ultimately called back due to offsetting penalties on Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
Both players were subsequently ejected but none of the commentators in the NFL Network booth could explain what happened to lead to the ejection.
Video only showed part of a tussle on the field beween the two players but nothing to suggest that there needed to be an ejection. Analyst Jason Kelce lamented the lack of good camera angles.
“I wish we had more of what happened between Trotter and Thomas,” Kelce said
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Bryan Thomas Jr. get ejected during a wild opening kickoff of Eagles-Jags in London. Unfortunately, we don't get much of a helpful replay to show what happened.

Later in the quarter, NFL Network finally seemed to get some kind of inkling of what happened. Kurt Warner seemed to believe that Trotter or Thomas kicked the other while they were getting into a scuffle at midfield.
Nevertheless, he still wasn’t sure exactly what happened.
NFL Network would return to the incident later in the first quarter with a (slightly) more revealing replay

“This has just been a really disjointed and sloppy day all around from the crew,” a third wrote. “Really have 0 idea what either player did to warrant an ejection on the opening kickoff. Just strange. Torbert seems confused and off today. Maybe travel issues or jet-lag?”
The game itself has been pretty good. Despite the low-scoring affair, there’s been plenty of drama and big plays to go around in this London game.
