“Minor to moderate flooding of sea water is likely around high tide at beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges. Low-lying areas will be most susceptible, including Oceano. Enhanced beach erosion is likely. The risk for significant damage is very low. There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. Large secondary high tides are also expected each evening,” explains the NWS. “Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.”
