How often do you go through a pair of skis? One season? Three seasons? A decade?
It all depends, really, on what you do with them. Some (myself included) fall into the “tools not jewels camp.” They don’t seek out rocks, per se, but if the decision is between a few core shots or not farming some early-season pow, they’ll take the former option. Then, there’s a bonus third option: those who seem to treat their skis with outright disdain.

Enter BPC, the series of videos that involve plenty of skiing but literally zero snow. The fourth chapter has just been released, and it’s every bit as entertaining as the previous outings. It is, probably, what most would call a bad idea. But, applying the horseshoe theory of ski decisions, there are decisions that are so bad that they circle back around and, actually, turn out to be really, really good.
Or, at least, good for viewing. All the bumps, scrapes, bruises, and dislocated digits that went into BPC 4 must have been the opposite of fun. Something else, however, must keep BPC coming back. Maybe they’ve discovered a revelation. Is it not just powder that’s overrated? Could it be that any snow at all is, too?
