The A Ma Maniére vibe is one of my favorites when mixed with the Jordan Brand. And the AJ12 AMA Black is one of the best examples. This one dropped during Black History Month in 2023 and it is the first sneaker from the series to catch my eye. This one is a women’s exclusive, but definitely worth sizing up for men. A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand built the release around the ‘She’s the Blueprint’ story, which SoleSavy describes as an ode to Black women. Women got first access through in-store raffles at The Whitaker Group’s doors on Feb. 14 and 15, 2023.
Before the 12, the James Whitner-led boutique had already worked on the Air Jordan 1 through Air Jordan 4. The AJ12 was its first take on the silhouette.
Like many of the AMA collabs, this one has been slept on.
The Black pair (DV6989-001) launched on A Ma Maniére’s site Feb. 24, 2023, and hit Nike SNKRS on March 2. A White/Burgundy pair released the same day exclusively through A Ma Maniére.

The Black/Black-Burgundy Crush colorway pairs an all-black upper with burgundy suede on the mudguard. A quilted liner and A Ma Maniére branding on the tongue round out the build.
Adult pairs came in women’s sizes 5 to 15.5, which convert to men’s 3.5 to 14. Preschool and toddler sizes released alongside them.
