It’s rare to hear Bruce Buffer criticize a fighter, but the “Veteran voice of the Octagon” isn’t a fan of heavyweight Josh Hokit‘s antics and comments outside of the cage.

Hokit is a polarizing figure. He takes on personas that some find cringe while others see as refreshing in a division that lacks personalities. He regularly calls out fighters on social media and weighs in on the political landscape, among other things. While recognizing Hokit’s fighting ability, Buffer views “The Incredible Hok” as disrespectful.
“He can fight, but I don’t like what he talks about,” Buffer said in a recent interview. “I think he’s disrespectful, and sorry, Josh if you’re watching, but it’s just the way it is. This is his thing. It’s his game. It’s not my style.”

Buffer specifically brought up Hokit’s comments about former First Lady Michelle Obama following his UFC Freedom 250 win over win over Derrick Lewis in June. “Now listen, Alex Pereira, I’m going to chama on your mama, and lastly, Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America,” he said in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
“It’s like, show some class; that is just the way I am. The things he said at the White House, I am sorry, but I did not appreciate that,” said Buffer.
Hokit is undefeated and 4-0 inside the octagon. He challenges champion Ciryl Gane for the undisputed heavyweight title in the UFC 334 main event on Nov. 14.
