A cyclist was struck and killed Thursday night along a busy corridor near the Port of West Sacramento, according to police.
The collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of Industrial Boulevard near Harbor Boulevard, according to Taylor Nelson, a spokesperson for the West Sacramento Police Department.
Bystanders, police officers and firefighters rendered aid to the cyclist, including performing CPR, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to radio dispatches reviewed by The Sacramento Bee. The cyclist’s identity was expected to be released by Yolo County coroner’s officials after next of kin were notified.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Nelson said. Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision.
