Dotty Pritchard continued to lead the race for Yolo County’s 3rd District Board of Supervisors seat Friday, holding a roughly 630-vote advantage over Mayra Vega in the latest election update.

Preliminary results show Pritchard ahead with 41.9% of the vote. Mayra Vega remains in second place with 32.8%. Xochitl Rodriguez, who was in third after Election Night, received 25.4% of the vote.
Precinct-level results show Rodriguez leading in the Bryte and Broderick neighborhoods of West Sacramento, while Pritchard and Vega split support in Woodland. Pritchard also performed strongly in rural portions of the district.
The race will determine who succeeds Supervisor Mary Vixie Sandy, who is not seeking reelection.

The 3rd District includes the city of Woodland, the Bryte and Broderick neighborhoods in West Sacramento and the Wild Wings community. Its supervisor will have to confront a budget deficit projected to last for several years. During the campaign, all three candidates pledged to be responsible stewards of county finances while prioritizing housing affordability.
County elections officials expect to release another update by 4 p.m. Tuesday. Results must be certified by July 2.
