A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 50 in El Dorado County on Monday morning, California Highway Patrol officials said.

CHP South Lake Tahoe officers responded about 11:19 a.m. to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a Lincoln Navigator on Highway 50 near Slippery Ford Road, east of Twin Bridges in El Dorado County.
The motorcycle, a 2009 BMW F650GS, was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the Lincoln. The motorcyclist, an 85-year-old man from Lincoln, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures. The driver of the Lincoln, a 38-year-old woman from San Lorenzo, was not injured, a CHP spokesperson said.

Investigators found no indication that alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, a CHP South Lake Tahoe spokesperson said.
Traffic was reduced to one-way control following the crash, but Highway 50 fully reopened by about 1 p.m. Monday.
