Mexico will be hosting England at Azteca on Sunday evening. The game, set to begin at 8 p.m. E.T., could be one of the most intense of the entire World Cup. Mexico supporters will undoubtedly be going crazy, while England – looking to win its first World Cup in 50 years – will attempt to advance into the quarterfinals.
Who will U.S. fans be rooting for?
America and Mexico have long been rivals. However, the same could be said of America and England.
U.S fans have made it clear that they will be rooting for Mexico over England on Sunday evening.
A poll revealed that 58.4 percent of U.S. fans will be cheering for Mexico, while just 41.6 percent of fans will be cheering for England.
Soccer fans make it clear who they are rooting for tonight
“Mexico is hard to beat in that place. And none of these British players have experienced it,” one fan wrote.

“Just know, ALL Mexicans will be rooting for Belgium tomorrow but yeah, go ahead and root for Mexico – we deserve all the derision we get,” one fan added.
“England has our backs way more than Mexico ever has. The US and England may not always agree on things but they were there for us after 9/11 and we were there on D Day,” one fan added.
“I can’t think of one decent argument to root for Mexico. Yes we got our independence from England 250 years ago, but they are our greatest ally now. Mexico is our biggest rival in soccer and I don’t consider them that much of a friend politically either,” one fan added.
“The real question is, how many El Tri fans are rooting for the U.S. tomorrow night? You’ll reveal the answer to this rivalry real fast,” one fan added.

England and Mexico are scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. on Monday evening.
