So the Giants’ Andrew Thomas landed No. 8 on the ESPN-compiled list of the top-10 tackles as judged by executives, coaches and scouts.
Thomas started 13 games in 2025 and dominated. Pro-Football Focus gave him the fourth-best grade (90.3) among 89 qualifying tackles last season, and he committed only two accepted penalties — the same number he was flagged for in six games in 2024.
The Giants were a respectable 17th in the NFL in points per game (22.4) last season, a stark rise from 2024 when they scored just 16.1 per game (31st)
Andrew Thomas was Healthy and Helped the Giants Rushing Attack in 2025
After playing just 16 games between 2023 and 2024, then missing the first three while recovering from the Lisfranc foot injury that ended his 2024 season, Thomas looked like his old self.
In a run-heavy offense, Thomas ranked eighth among those 89 tackles in run-blocking grade (84.6) by PFF. In part due to his prowess, the Giants ranked fifth in the NFL in rushing (129.1 yards per game), despite losing both quarterback Jaxson Dartand running back Cam Skattebo at points.
“After battling injuries in recent years, Thomas had a banner season for New York,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote for ESPN.com. “His 77.7% run block win rate ranked second among players in our top 10, helping the Giants produce the fifth-ranked rushing attack.”

The Giants shut down Thomas for their final two games after he sustained a hamstring strain against the Minnesota Vikings. So keeping their star left tackle healthy is a huge priority for the Giants in 2026.
Andrew Thomas is an Elite Pass Blocker
The Giants ran wild on the NFL when Thomas was on the field, but he was actually better at protecting the blind sides of quarterbacks Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Dart last season.
Thomas picked up an 87.2 pass-blocking grade, third-best of any qualifying tackle, a season ago. He gave up only one sack last year, and surrendered just 13 pressures in 2025, according to PFF.
“A big factor with tackles is how much you can trust them in passing-down situations against the best, often on an island, and Thomas can handle that,” an NFL coordinator told Fowler. “Not many can.”
Thomas will be a big part of the Giants offense in 2026 too, since he is locked in with Big Blue through the 2029 season.
With their left tackle (Thomas), quarterback (Dart), WR1 (Malik Nabers) and RB1 (Skattebo) under contract at reasonable numbers, the Giants offense should keep getting better as long as each remains healthy.
