Arman Tsarukyan has weighed in on Jon Jones‘ public feud with Islam Makhachev.
The Armenian is a man of very few words, often blunt and not very talkative in interviews. But when questioned about the ongoing spat between Jones and Makhachev, he had much to say. Jones and Makhachev have formed an unlikely vendetta on social media, following the Dagestani’s comments about the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion.

Islam Makhachev gave himself praise for securing 20 wins in a row, excluding Jon Jones from the greatest of all time talks for his alleged PED use. But according to Arman Tsarukyan, Makhachev hasn’t surpassed Jones’ legacy.
“No, how can he catch up? Well, if you look at it mathematically,” Tsarukyan said. “Look, for example, title defenses. How many times has Jon Jones defended the title?”
Like Makhachev, Jones managed to win titles in two divisions. His dominant years were at 205-pounds, but a stint at heavyweight late in his career was fruitful. His easy first-round win over Ciryl Gane has aged incredibly well, but there are still doubts about his fight with Stipe Miocic.
Defending Jones’ win over Miocic, Tsarukyan said:
“Wait, is Miocic not a top fighter? Well, I don’t know. Everyone has their own opinion. It seems to me that nobody has beaten Jon Jones’ record yet. I would be glad if Islam breaks the record.”

Arman Tsarukyan stands by Jon Jones’ 20-fight win streak, despite his win over Daniel Cormier being overturned by a PED violation.
“Yeah, [I believe Jones has 20 wins]. They didn’t take away the victory because of the doping. He didn’t lose the fight. Well, yeah, see, it was annulled. He probably has 20 wins.”
