As noted in an LSBA news release, his term will end in December.

Kleinpeter, who represents District 5 in Ascension Parish, was elected to the LSBA Board of Directors in 2022 and sworn in as president earlier this year during the association’s annual convention.

“It has been an honor to serve as president and work alongside others who are committed to public education,” Kleinpeter said in the announcement. “When we, as leaders, provide our children with a strong elementary and secondary education, we prepare them to become good citizens and leaders of our communities, state and nation. I appreciate the opportunity to serve and the support I have received throughout my term.”

Kleinpeter previously served as his parish’s board president for several years.

“Taft is a valuable asset to the LSBA and I have enjoyed working with him in role as president of the Board of Directors,” Dr. Janet Pope, LSBA’s executive director, said in the release. “He recognizes the responsibility we have as leaders to advocate on behalf of our students, giving them the best possible opportunities to become successful.”
