Shedeur Sanders, under the leadership of Deion Sanders, was the star for the Colorado Buffaloes during his two years with the team. Shedeur began his college career at Jackson State in 2021 before transferring to the Buffaloes in 2023. The 2024 season was the one where Sanders came into his own as he threw for 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, earning the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award.

However, Sanders has not been able to achieve the same sort of recognition in the NFL. The former Colorado quarterback recently was involved in a quarterback battle for the Browns’ starting quarterback role with Deshaun Watson, with the battle ending in disappointment for him after Todd Monken named Watson the starter for Week 1.
But, since he is the son of NFL icon Deion, Shedeur has been conditioned to deal with adversity and pressure from a young age, and that’s exactly what he has done. Despite what’s been happening on the field, the Browns quarterback exudes an unapologetic self-confidence and an unmistakable swagger off it.
Being Deion’s son, Shedeur was also introduced to baseball at a very young age as well, as Deion was a two-sport athlete. Shedeur played organized youth baseball during his childhood and participated in Little League. But he decided to retire from baseball early and decided to pursue football.

Shedeur, during an appearance with Maxx Crosby on the show “Deflected,” explained his decision to retire from baseball, saying, “Shilo was pitching. I’m telling my, they smacking this ball. Mind you, I gotta play in the outfield right now. I start leaning on the gate. He start yelling at me, my dad. He was like, ‘Hey, don’t you ever disrespect this game, the game of baseball. Do you not know what this has done?”
“I’m like, ‘Do you not see how they hitting this ball, bro? You feel me? Like, do you not see this? Like, I know you feel some type of way. This is Shilo, this is his brother, this is your son. They sitting here abusing this ball.’ And then, like, from then on, I think that was my last year. The love of the game just left from me,” he added.
After seeing what Shedeur is capable of doing with the football in his hands, it feels like he made the right call.
