Nothing says punk rock quite like swiping a French horn.
Citrus Heights police are asking for help identifying two people accused of breaking into the band classroom at Mesa Verde High School on Aug. 20 and stealing more than $5,000 worth of musical instruments.

The pair smashed a window in a door about midnight and reached inside to activate the push bar, according to Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers. Surveillance footage showed a dark-haired man with tattoos on his arms wearing a black graphic T-shirt, black sweatpants and black-and-gold slides, and a woman with red hair wearing a black shirt, black skirt and black boot-style shoes.
Their haul? A French horn valued at about $5,000 and a cymbal/drum valued at about $800.
The duo may have gotten the right gear for the gig — presumably ska — but police were hoping someone could make the band by providing their identities.

The department described one suspect as a man about 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds. The second suspect was described as a woman about 5-foot-5 and 155 pounds.
Anyone who recognized either suspect was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357 or sacvalleycrimestoppers.com. Tips can be made anonymously and could qualify for a reward for up to $1,000, enough for a decent Telecaster and a pedal or two.
